Nordkapp (North Cape), Norway
Nordkapp or North Cape is located in the far north of Norway on the Island of Magerøya. Situated inside the Arctic Circle at 71° north. Nordkapp is the most northerly point of the European continent and the cliffs sit 307 metres above the mighty Barents Sea below. The location and remoteness make it one of the best places in the world to see the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights.
There a range of camping grounds and accommodation in the Area and Nordkapp is a popular destination for a lot of tour companies. The larger city of Honningsvag is about 30km away and provides more accommodation options.
Getting to Nordkapp
Nordkapp is a popular tourist destination and offers a few different options of getting there.
By Plane – Honningsvag Airport is the easiest way to get to Nordkapp with daily flights from Tromsø that take approx. 1 and a half hours
By Boat – The Hurtigruten uses Nordkapp as one of its stops, and the area is also popular with Cruise ships.
By Car – Nordkapp is about 35 minutes from Honningsvag and almost 9 hours drive from Tromsø
